Maths Problem Solving

We have been learning to write word problems into number problems and solve the answers. Sometimes we use ideas from our inquiry topic. 

Here is an example:  There are 12 baby kiwi in a nest.  Along comes a stoat and eats 7 babies.  How many babies are left?
