Medal Making

We looked closely at the Olympic medals.  We learnt about the different symbols and why they are used on the medal.  We noticed a woman on it that looked like a fairy.  Her name is Nike.  She is the Greek goddess of victory.  Does anybody have any ideas why she would be used on an Olympic medal? 

We designed our own medals.  Briar was the only child to make a bronze medal and Ashlee H was the only child to make a silver medal.  Everyone else made gold.
